Privacy notice

Data Deep Clean is run by LRC Labs Ltd(“we”, “us”). This notice explains what personal data we hold about you, why, how long we keep it, who else sees it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Our two roles

For your account we are the data controller. We decide what we hold and why.

When we contact data brokers for you, we act as your authorised agent, under the authority you sign before we send anything. There we are exercising your own rights, on your instructions.

What we collect

• The details you give us: name, email address, postal address, date of birth and phone number.
• A login identifier and the sign-in method you chose.
• The result of your identity check, and the minimum needed to show it was done. The check also confirms the service is available where you live; we keep only that outcome, not the details on your document.
• The records we create while acting for you: which brokers we contacted, what we asked, what they replied, and what happened.
• Your subscription and payment status. We never hold your card details.
• Basic technical information such as your IP address and browser, used for security.
• If you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage data: which pages are visited and how often. Nothing that identifies you.
• Messages between you and us.

We collect only what is needed to find and remove your data from brokers. We do not buy information about you or add to your profile from other sources.

Why we use it

We use your data to run your account, to find and remove your listings, to take payment, and to keep the service secure. In legal terms: running the service and billing you is performance of our contract with you; contacting brokers is done under the authority you sign; identity checks, security and record keeping are our legitimate interests in running a safe service; and analytics runs only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie choices link in the footer.

Our free exposure estimate uses published figures only. Nothing you type into it is stored.

We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have a legal or similarly significant effect.

Who else sees your data

Data brokers receive the minimum needed to make a valid request in your name, and only under your authority.

We use a small number of service providers to run the service, for example to host it, take payments, check identity, send email and, if you accept, measure how the site is used. They work under contract, only on our instructions, and only with what they need for their job. Your data is held in the UK. If a provider handles any of it outside the UK, we use the safeguards UK law approves for that. We do not sell your data. We share it beyond this only where the law requires.

How long we keep it

• Your account and the records of what we did for you: for as long as your account is open. Closing your account deletes them and ends your login.
• Identity documents: deleted once the check is complete.
• Payment records: six years, because UK tax and company law requires it. They hold your name, email address and the amounts paid, nothing more.
• A minimal record of requests we sent in your name may be kept after you close your account, where we need it to show what was done or to deal with a legal claim.
• Security logs: a short period, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a usable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it.

You can do most of this yourself in your account:

• Download everything we hold about you.
• Edit your details.
• Close your account and delete your data.

Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures and review them regularly. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if something goes wrong that affects you.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, tell us first. Our complaints processexplains what happens. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk, at any time.

Changes

If we change this notice we will publish the new version here with a new effective date, and tell you if the change matters to you.
